Dear Valued Patient,
First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your continued trust in Monadnock Perio & Implant Center to provide for your periodontal care needs.
It has come to our attention that many of our patients are receiving a letter from their insurance provider, Delta Dental. We had been unaware that Delta Dental would send a letter and had planned to have individual conversations with each of you on a personal one-to-one basis in order to explain our reasons and answer any of your concerns.
This letter has understandably created some anxiety and confusion. I would like to reach out to share what brought me to make the recent decision to be an Out of Network Practice with Delta Dental.
Monadnock Perio & Implant Center strives for excellent patient care. We pride ourselves on our standard of care and ALWAYS treatment planning for what is in the patient’s best interest. We appreciate patients having dental insurance and we strive to provide the best quality dental care for our patients while still working with, but not being restricted by, dental insurances.
Being an in-network provider for dental insurances pushes Dental Practices to focus on quantity as opposed to the quality care, which we choose to provide.
This model of quantity over quality has been especially apparent with the current insurance reimbursement rate, and the financial cost of maintaining the quality care we have been providing to our patients.
A single example of the drawbacks of being in network with insurance: potentially needing to shorten the dental cleaning schedule from the current 1.15 hour to 1 hour or even 45 minutes to meet the financial needs of the practice. Certainly, this is against my goal of providing the best Quality Periodontal and Dental care for the people in the community.
We have already been Out of Network for all other insurances, other than Delta Dental since opening our Practice doors back in May 2017.
Like the many patients with other dental insurances that we help every day, you can certainly continue your dental and periodontal care at Monadnock Perio & Implant Center. We will collect in full for your dental procedures with our Practice and Our Team will submit/process your insurance like we have in the past and YOU will receive reimbursement directly from Delta Dental.
We understand and respect if you decide to opt out of your care at Monadnock Perio & Implant Center at this time. Our team at Monadnock Perio & Implant Center will be here in case you need us in the future at any time. If you would like to further discuss your insurance situation, please reach out at (603) 215-5800.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tae Kwon
